Selphyl PRFM For Restoration

Restore your confidence!

Selphyl PRFM is a simple, no downtime series of treatments to help people with thinning hair using their own platelets. The Selphyl PRFM system allows or prolonged release of platelet growth factors in the scalp which stimulates stem cells, prolongs dermal papillae cell survival, and increases angiogenesis. These factors combine to prolong the Anlagen phase of hair growth and shorten the catagen (resting) phase. The result is increased hair thickness and hair follicle survival.

What is PRP & PRFM for hair restoration?

Selphyl PRFM is the next generation PRP. It is the only product on the market to have the platelets last more than 5 hours in skin rejuvenation and 7 days in hair restoration, versus regular PRP only lasting minutes, which makes it more effective in its results.

What is PRP versus PRFM?

PRFM is the next generation PRP.  Selphyl PRFM is the only product on the market to have the platelets last more than 5 hours in skin rejuvenation and 7 days in hair restoration, versus regular PRP only lasting minutes. It is the only system to mix w/ calcium chloride  in a vial to form a fibrin matrix to help it last for a more therapeutic effect and the only system with proprietary polyester gel  to keep red and white blood cells out to prevent inflammation and catabolic effects.

Am I a Candidate for PRFM for Hair Restoration?

PRP or Selphyl PRFM is designed for those individuals who have some thinning of hair on the scalp and is not recommended for complete balding. It has been shown that  platelet plasma growth factors lead to a significant improvement in hair density and stimulation of growth when the hair follicles (in hair  transplantation) were pre-treated with platelet-derived growth factors.

What is a Typical Treatment Like?

PRP or platelet-rich plasma is a preparation of platelets – taken from a person through a small blood draw, which is then put in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from our red and white blood cells – prior to treatment where it is reinjected into the scalp. It is a simple in-office procedure with no downtime. Once centrifuged, the plasma is reported to be 300% to 700% enriched with platelets concentration to more than 1 million platelets per microliter. Platelets not only provide coagulation but they also secrete several growth factors (proteins like platelet-derived growth factors, insulin-like growth factors, epidermal growth factors, keratinocyte growth factor, vascular endothelial growth factor, etc.) and other cell-to-cell activation molecules. The growth factors within, and released by the platelets, act on the stem cells found at the base of the hair follicles.
